After graduating with a Bachelors of Architecture
from Rice University in 1991 Ms. Intscher designed & built a home
for her parents in northern Canada. She began her explorations of ecological
design and interest in developing innovative details in this first solo
project. After spending some time working in her native Canada. She continued
her education at UCLA and in 1993 graduated with a Masters Degree in Architecture.
She completed her architectural apprenticeship
with several well known California firms working on large commercial,
hospital, transportaion and themed entertainment projects. After becoming
a registered architect in 1997 and gaining experience in many aspects
of the field she began her own firm in 1999. Outside of the traditional
studio setting she also has considerable on-site construction experience.
Now as the lead designer for Secret Base Design,
Ms. Intscher is continuing to explore enviornmental construction within
a framework of modernity.
She also lectures, teaches workshops and classes
in green building.
